Dan Or-Hof

Dan Or-Hof, the founder of Or-Hof Technology and IP law firm, is a notable and respected lawyer in the field. Dan’s expertise is derived from both academic and practical experience. Formerly head of an international Israel based law firm’s IT, Internet, and Copyright department, Dan has intimate knowledge of the technology and innovation industry. This is evident by his appearance as a special advisor before the Knesset’s (the Israeli parliament) Economic Affairs and the Constitution Law and Justice committees as well as the justice and finance ministries. 

As an influential figure in the field, domestic and beyond, Dan writes professional reports for both legal and economic platforms and contributes to renowned international publications, such as Dataguidance, the IAPP Privacy Advisor, and Nymity.

Over 20 years of daily practice in technology and IP Law have made Dan a “Knowledge and expertise center” for topics such as the Internet of Things, Big Data, Cloud environments, authentication, and digital signatures, proprietary and Open Source licensing, Data Protection and Information privacy.

Dan has formed and is chairing the Israeli Data Protection Professionals Forum (IDPF).

Dan is a Lecturer at law. He teaches Privacy and Data Protection at the Tel Aviv University in their Cyber Interdisciplinary Program and a privacy and ethics seminar at the Interdisciplinary Center. Previously he taught the Law of Information (2009-2013) in the law faculty of the Colman College of Management and Topics in law and technology at the Bar Ilan University; Dan also provides presentations in various other academic, commercial and governmental forums, and writes to professional and financial publications.

Dan is a member of the Privacy Protection Public Council, a member of the International Associations of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and CIPP/E).
