Dan Or-Hof

Dan founded Or-Hof Law in 2013 with a vision to create an environment of excellence with a personal touch to innovators. His expertise is derived from both academic and practical experience, with extensive knowledge of the technology and innovation industry. Dan is a New York and Israeli attorney and an acknowledged international leader in the field of data protection and cyber laws. He holds an LLM degree from UC Berkeley and Tel Aviv University (summa cum laude), and he is a certified privacy professional (CIPP/E; CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP). As a law and technology highly specialized boutique practice, Or-Hof Law has gained leader and elite rankings in cyber and technology laws by law ranking guides. In 2020, together with partners from the E.U. and USA, Dan formed Strand Advisory, international privacy and cyber security consulting firm, and he currently serves as the firm’s CEO. Dan has founded and is the current chair of the Israeli Data Protection Professionals Forum (IDPF). He serves as a member of the Privacy Protection Public Council, advises the Israeli government and Knesset on privacy bills and regulations, and contributes to the legislative processes of various laws, including in relation to credit reports, biometric data, and health information. Dan is a member of a cyber security task force of the Israeli bar association, and he has also formed and was the first chair of the IAPP KnowledgeNet Tel Aviv chapter. Dan lectures at Tel Aviv University, he has numerous authored guides, opinions, and position papers on data protection and privacy regulation, and he is a frequent speaker and commentator.
