What Qualifications are Required from the Privacy Protection Officer? –

Under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, the privacy protection officer shall have the knowledge and skills required to perform his duties adequately, including in-depth knowledge of privacy protection laws, appropriate understanding of technology and data security, and familiarity with the areas of activity of the entity in which he performs his role and its objectives, taking into account the nature of the data processing, its circumstances, scope, and purposes.

In addition, the privacy protection officer shall not hold another position and shall not report to an officer of the entity in which he performs his role or in another entity, if holding the aforesaid position or subordination may place him in a conflict of interest in the performance of his duties under this law.
