On May 7, 2023, the Privacy Protection Regulations (instructions regarding information transferred to Israel from the European Economic Area) were published. The new regulations take effect in a few phases, starting as of the beginning of August 2023.
The publication of the regulations is the result of Israeli efforts to preserve the recognition by the European Union of Israeli privacy laws as providing adequate protection to personal data (the adequacy recognition). The regulations are expected to affect a wide range of companies and organizations.
Israel is in an interim regulatory phase with eyes focused on international and global compliance.
In the event, we presented the regulations, discussed their importance and provided insights on how to prepare for them.
Thank you all attendants, the exceptional panelists the Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center, Tel Aviv University, and our wonderful team at Or-Hof Law, for putting this important event together.
