The Protection of Privacy Authority has published a report about loyalty schemes’ state of compliance with Israeli privacy laws and in particular with the provisions of the
the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 and the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data
Security) 5777-2017.
The report reveals compliance gaps and deficiencies in following Israeli privacy laws and regulations. These include:
International corporations rely on their global privacy practices (mainly based on the GDPR) and do not attend properly to controls and measures under Israeli privacy laws. Additionally, less than 50% of the inspected companies comply in full with the data security requirements under Israeli laws.
